In this seminar for primary school teachers, you’ll learn how to locate interactive online resources that you can use in teaching Mathematics and Science concepts and problems.

Objectives

At the end of the seminar, you will be able to:

  • Search and locate interactive online resources for teaching in Mathematics and Science
  • Evaluate and select authoritative online resources
  • Identify tools for content sharing and collaboration in support of teachers’ professional development

Topics

  • Effective search and evaluation strategies that will give teachers the upper hand to go beyond Google
  • Web-based materials and technology tools to support teachers (primary and secondary) in the teaching of Mathematics and Science e.g interactive teaching applets, simulations, exemplary projects, databases and teachers’ professional development resources
  • Highlights on Web 2.0 for content sharing and collaborative effort in enhancing teachers’ professional development
  • Throughout this workshop, the participants will be fully engaged in using the Internet tools to refine search using keywords and search strings. In addition to building search and evaluation skills, the participants will produce a list of collated websites for use
