Cataloguing Essentials Part II
“Cataloguing Essentials Part II” continues onward from Part 1 of the course, which laid the foundation of the cataloguing process. Cataloguing Essentials Part 2 introduces more in depth knowledge in cataloguing. In this course, you’ll learn to assign Library of Congress Subject Headings (LCSH) and Dewey Decimal Classification (DDC) numbers to books. Through engaging instructional content and video snippets featuring practicing librarians, you’ll learn about the steps involved in assigning LCSH and DDC numbers to library materials. You’ll also have a chance to practice the same steps yourself through exercises designed to give you a taste of cataloguing. This course will benefit new cataloguers or anyone who is interested in cataloguing as a career option.
