On 8 July 2011, CEO, NLB Mrs Elaine Ng officially launched NLBA Resource Centre located at level 1 of Toa Payoh Public Library

The NLB Academy Resource Centre is opened to public from Monday to Friday (9am to 6pm) for convenient access to our facility, services and course information. It is also a space for interaction with partners and customers. A series of learning activities for general public and NLB staff will also be held in our training room (Astrid Room) in the Resource Centre.

About 60 guests from Workforce Development Agency (WDA), Media Development  Authority (MDA), Civil Service College (CSC), Library Association of Singapore (LAS), People’s Association (Toa Payoh Central Constituency) and schools in the Toa Payoh vicinity attended the launch. Many expressed their delight with NLBA’s initiative in reaching out to the community to deliver information andmedia literacy training, and they look forward to more efforts from NLBA in delivering more programmes to address the learning needs of the community.

NLBA also presented the revamped NLBA website (www.nlba.sg) during the launch. The new Information Architecture is designed to appeal to the targeted learning communities and make navigating the website easy for the Library Community, Students, Adult Learners & Educators.

The roll out of NLBA programmes would not have been possible without the commitment, dedication and support of NLBA’s pool of trainers. As a token of our appreciation to NLBA’s trainers, CEO, NLB presented the Certificate of Commendation to a few outstanding trainers who live and breathe NLB’s Shared Values and who serve as role models to the rest of the trainers.
